The three videos in this section go further into psychosis and schizophrenia than the Core Reading had room for.

The first, from Dr. Tracey Marks, a practising psychiatrist, pairs well with “Understanding Psychosis” — hallucinations across all five senses, the difference between a hallucination and a simple misperception, and every major type of delusion, each with a concrete example. The second, from MedCircle, is a longer, in-depth conversation covering how antipsychotic medication actually works, the real trade-offs between different generations of treatment, and the honest statistics around recovery and access to care — including a genuinely striking moment on how differently society responds to someone in psychiatric crisis compared to someone in emotional crisis. The third, from Stanford, focuses specifically on early signs and the value of getting treatment started as soon as possible.

As with the rest of this unit, approach this as real, clinically grounded material about a condition that’s frequently misunderstood — give yourself space to sit with it if anything lands close to home.
